Term dates
We follow the New Zealand public school terms and lessons are provided weekly during the term times, with the last week of term reserved for catch-up lessons. No lessons are scheduled on public holidays or your school’s teacher-only days.​ The start dates for your child’s lessons will be visible on your invoice, along with the number of lessons for the term.

 

Occasionally, the lesson day may need to be changed due to whole school activities. Crescendo Kids will liaise with the school prior to the beginning of term and will let  students know as far in advance as possible of alternative lesson arrangements. 

 

Communication

We communicate with families by email. It is your responsibility to keep us updated with correct contact information to ensure you receive all necessary correspondence.

 

Fees
Group music lessons are $20 per lesson. Once your child’s lesson has been timetabled, you will be invoiced for the term’s lessons before the start of the term. On your invoice there will be a link to pay securely by card using Stripe. There is a $5 booking fee. If you would prefer to deposit into our bank account, please get in touch and we can give you the account details. You must not pay the school office or the music teaching staff directly. 

 

Payments
Payment is required to secure your booking. Please pay by the due date on your invoice. The invoice is for one school term of music lessons, due at the beginning of the term. If a student starts in a music group partway through the term, they will be invoiced from their start date through to the end of the term.

 

Late payments

If a payment hasn’t been made by 14 days after the start of a school term, we will send a final written notice to pay, and the payment will incur a $35 late fee. If after a further 7 days the fee remains unpaid, we reserve the right to refer the debt to a collection agency. The reasonable costs of collection will be added to the amount owing. 

 

Termination of enrolment

Once a payment is more than 21 days overdue, Crescendo Kids Music Academy reserves the right to terminate the student’s enrolment.

 

Duration of Agreement

The lesson agreement between the student and Crescendo Kids Music Academy is rolling, meaning it continues into each new term and new year. Towards the end of each term, you will be emailed with the invoice for the next term. For the first term of the year you will be invoiced in early January.

 

Cancellation

If you do not want to continue with music lessons the following term, you must let us know in writing before the end of term (i.e. at least two weeks notice before the beginning of the next term’s lessons) so we have time to make the necessary adjustments to our teaching timetable. If notice is not given prior to the beginning of term, you will be charged a late notice fee of $40. Cancellations can only be made at the end of each term or year. If you withdraw from lessons during the term, the remaining lessons are forfeited and no refunds will be given.

 

Absences
If your child is sick or involved in a school activity that means they miss a lesson, don’t worry! In the last week of term, we will hold a special bonus lesson for any students who have missed a lesson throughout the term. It will be a fun opportunity to learn some musical skills and interact with other students in a larger-format group class. Please note that there are no refunds or credits provided due to a child’s absence.

 

If for any reason we’re unable to provide a teacher for a lesson, we will provide a catch-up lesson at the usual lesson time in the last week of term.

 

Weather events

If schools are closed and/or music lessons are unable to take place due to weather events or other events outside of our control, a credit for the missed lesson will be issued.

 

Photography and filming

We may occasionally take photographs or video footage in class for educational purposes. This will only be shared with the other members of the group. 

 

If we wish to use photography or filming for promotional purposes, we will seek consent from you for the use of any photos or videos where your child is clearly visible. You are under no obligation to provide consent for the use of your child’s images.

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions

From time to time, Crescendo Kids Music Academy may revise these terms and conditions and make changes. These changes will be visible on the Crescendo Kids Music Academy website.
